Bob King is Governmental Affairs Advisor to a collaboration of WeatherBug Home, a smart home management platform enterprise of Earth Networks, and EDF Energy Services North America, that provides energy efficiency and demand response to utilities, electric retailers, and wholesale energy markets. Good Company Associates provides legislative and regulatory, as well as, business development consulting and support services to a range of energy technology and service companies.
King previously served as a Vice President of Resource Management International, now Navigant Consulting, and regional director of KENETECH Corporation, for which he developed the first commercial wind farm in Texas in 1993. King earlier had a 20-year career in government service. He was the first director of renewable energy programs for the Tennessee Valley Authority, assistant to the Chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission, and worked for the Lt. Governor of Texas, and the Governor of Texas. He formed and ran an Office of Natural Resources for the Texas Agriculture Commissioner. He was also for two years senior advisor to the Governor of California on energy efficiency and renewable energy.
King also concurrently currently serves as CEO of the Southcentral Partnership for Energy Efficiency as a Resource, as President of the Gulf Coast Power Association, and is a board member of the National Peak Load Management Alliance and Mission:Data. He is a registered engineer and lobbyist, and trained mediator. Bob is a graduate of Vanderbilt engineering school, and the LBJ School of Public Affairs, at UT, Austin.
