AEMA Makes Climate Recommendations

In response to a Request for Information from the House of Representatives Select Committee on the Climate Crisis, AEMA filed a number of recommendations that would enhance the ability of Distributed Energy Resources (“DERs”) to be tools for climate change mitigation. The organization (as opposed to any specific company member) has suggested that the federal government fund additional modeling tools for state regulatory entities and utilities; support technology demonstration sandboxes free of regulation; include DERs in a federal Clean Energy Standard; and encourage FERC to issue the DER rulemaking.
