AEMA PRAISES BIDEN’S AMERICAN JOBS PLAN FOR FOCUS ON EFFICIENCY
Washington, DC–The Advanced Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) today reacted with high praise for President Biden’s American Jobs Plan. The $2 trillion plan calls for energy efficiency and distributed energy resources to provide well-paying jobs focused on communities of greatest need.
“AEMA has always put people first,” stated Katherine Hamilton, Executive Director. “We advocate for policies that ensure consumers benefit from cost-effective choices–demand response, energy efficiency , distributed generation, and advanced energy management–all of which save money while increasing resilience. President Biden’s American Jobs Plan will do just that with investments in these communities through efficient and clean energy technologies.”
AEMA has long worked on policy that promotes market-based means for consumers to participate in the electric grid with their own clean energy resources. “These technologies should be readily available to everyone; they are actually less expensive in the long run while reducing impact on the planet, promoting human health, increasing resilience from climate events, saving dollars that can be spent elsewhere, and creating jobs in this sector. We are thrilled that the Biden Administration is recognizing the importance of customer-sited resources.”
President Biden’s plan weaves energy efficiency throughout the roadmap, ensuring that in every sector and agency these consumer resources are brought to bear toward the goal of reducing climate impact on the planet. AEMA commits to partnering with the Administration to make sure that these goals are enacted.
